To help you through the jungle of Blu-rays and region codes, we have sorted the different studios, so you can see which studios so far only have released region free Blu-rays, which releases region locked Blu-rays and which ones just can't seem to make up their mind.

Region free studios

Until now Blu-ray releases from Warner, Paramount, Universal and several other studios have all been region free. Please look below for a complete list of the studios.
We can of course not guarantee that future titles from these studios will be region free. This is why we indicate all Blu-ray preorders as Region A, until it comes in stock and an actual test has been performed. But judging from the history, it is very likely that future titles from these studios will be region free.

A-bit-of-both studios

Sony, Lionsgate and several other studios are a little more unpredictable in their region coding of Blu-ray titles. They have all released region free titles (like Sony's 6th Day) and region locked titles (like another Sony title: Casino Royale). When it comes to future releases from these studios, we recommend that you wait until they come in stock and have been tested (unless your Blu-ray player can play Region A Blu-ray discs of course).

Fox has now released a number of new titles without region coding (Stargate - Continuum and Prison Break Season 3) so we have now added this studio to our bit-of-both list.

Region coded studios

All studios have managed to release a region free title, either recently or in the past, which means no studios are on this list. Whether this is good news for future releases, we will have to wait a while to see, but there seems to be a tendency towards more region free releases.
