Description / Plot Summary: Patriots
Director Eric Rochant received a nomination for the coveted Cannes Film Festival's Golden Palme Award for this film. Actress Sandrine Kimberlane was also nominated for the Most Promising Actress Cèsar (the French equivalent of the Academy Awards) for her portrayal of Marie-Claude in this motion picture thriller from France.

The story of The Patriots offers the most revealing look ever into the Israeli secret service and was inspired by actual events in France, The United States and Israel. The film is narrated by Ariel Brenner, a young man from Paris who left home on his 18th birthday to emigrate to Israel. He lived out a lifelong dream of enlisting with the Mossad (Israel's equivalent of the C.I.A.), being filled with a spirit of commitment, idealism and wanting to do the best job he can for his adopted country. However, after his training is complete and the real work begins, he finds that state intelligence can indeed be a messy business. His assignments become increasingly more problematic in the face of his good nature. Brenner eventually must decide whether he can continue to be a part of an establishment where morally questionable means and actions are used to justify a benevolent goal...or remain true to his intrinsic values. How much can one man be jaded and disillusioned before his conscience compels him to fight back or quit?
