Matthew Ryder is a former Navy Seal whose friend Maggie, a deep-sea diver on a drilling rig, discovers part of a stolen Navy nuclear device on the ocean floor. Ryder decides to investigate and poses as a demolition man sent out to the rig to assist the cutter. But when Maggie's next dive is sabotaged, Ryder jumps in to save her but he is too late. Now it's personal. Convinced the rig foreman and his crew are really nuclear terrorists, Ryder turns to the Navy, who re-enlists him, despite his dishonorable discharge and sends him back to the rig on a dangerous mission. But is it revenge Ryder's seeking, or is he really a patriot after all?
